We're excited to announce we have started our first round of 100% grass-fed beef!
These calves came to us 1 day, and 2 days old. We have fed and cared for them from the very beginning. As soon as they were ready to eat grass, we got them on pasture- rotating to fresh, beautiful grass daily. They will be lifetime grazed.
Its important to us to be transparent about how our cattle are raised as we see titles such as “100% grass-fed” hold little meaning in regards to how the animal lived its life. 100% grass-fed tells you what they ate- grass in some form- but not if the animal was ever put on pasture with room to roam and with sunshine and fresh air. A grass-fed cow could be raised in a tight yard or barn its whole life while being fed hay, missing the nutrients it receives from fresh grass and sunshine and a life of movement.

As the weather allows, our grass-fed calves will be rotated on pasture. In the winter months, they will have a home in the barn yard with outdoor access (sunlight, fresh air) 100% of the time and plenty of space to live happily while being fed hay and supplemented proper minerals to get them through winter. When the grass returns in the spring, the cattle will be put back on pasture for the remainder of their life.
It is always our priority that our livestock (all livestock- our 100% grass-fed or corn finished herd) are never crammed in a yard, that they have a clean and spacious living space, access to fresh air and sunlight year round and on pasture when the weather allows.
Our first grass-fed operation is small, as this is what our farm allows for the best life of the animal at this time. We will have eight 1/4 beef shares to offer. Our finishing dates are to be determined (fall of 2025 or 2026). We know 100% grass-fed beef is of high interest and If you would like to get on our list please email us at voigtfamilyfarms@gmail.com . We will contact interested parties prior to launching on the website.
We're so happy to raise high quality beef for your families! This work is a joy!
A little glimpse at the set up for the calves as their first home on grass-Its always a family effort!
They are separated for now as the bigger calf takes the smaller one’s daily bottle. Soon they’ll be together again!

As always, we thank you-from the bottom of our hearts- for your support.
